Position: The Management Department in the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University invites applications for two full-time, tenure-track positions open at the assistant rank with one in the area of Strategic Management and the other in the area of Organizational Behavior to begin August 2016. We are seeking a candidate with a strong research potential. Candidates must have a Ph.D. (or be in the final stages of dissertation work), demonstrate an interest in and a capacity for conducting high-quality scholarly research, as well as a high level of teaching competence. New assistant professors are given minimal service assignments, a course reduction in their first year of employment, and summer support to allow them to develop their research programs. The normal teaching load is two courses per semester. Salary is competitive for a comprehensive research university.
Qualifications: Candidates should hold or anticipate holding by fall 2016 a Ph.D. in management or a related field. Candidates for the position should demonstrate strong research potential, preferably with an early career record of publication activity. We expect faculty members to pursue an active research program, perform undergraduate and graduate-level teaching, and help to supervise doctoral students. We have a strong preference for candidates who have a research program with high-impact potential underway, and who are able to work well with others in the very collegial environment of our department.
Department: The department currently has 20 tenure-track positions and a collegial atmosphere. Research is highly valued by the department and our faculty consistently publishes in premier research journals including AMJ, AMR, SMJ, JAP, and Organization Science as well as many other highly respected journals. In addition, our faculty members currently serve as Associate Editor or editorial board members of leading journals in their areas of specialty. Management faculty teach at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels. The doctoral program is an important component of the department; doctoral students work closely with faculty and are successful at producing published academic research prior to graduation. The successful candidate will be able to teach at all three levels.
