Accelerated Dual MBA-MSTM
The Distance Learning option of the MBA-MSTM is an accelerated, 68-hour dual-degree program imparting not only business and technical know-how but also the team orientation and interdisciplinary background that the business world values.
More than a technical MBA, the MBA-MSTM dual-degree program develops students’ broad knowledge in areas of business, technology and communications while integrating the knowledge, skills and experiences necessary to help students achieve their career goals. The program incorporates the same teamwork focus featured in a full-time MBA, unlike many online or virtual programs.
Telecommunications dramatically influences how individuals and companies communicate and conduct business, from government to health care to the entertainment industry. The MBA-MSTM program produces skilled and knowledgeable telecommunications managers, through relevant, cutting-edge curriculum in both telecommunications and business strategy.
Consisting of 17 core courses and three electives, the program draws on the combined expertise of the College of Business Administration; the College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology; and the College of Art and Sciences to form a unique interdisciplinary program. Students fully complete the core courses of both programs and share nine elective hours to meet the degree requirements. Depending on undergraduate background, students may qualify for credit-hour waivers.
Applicants must have a four-year undergraduate degree from an accredited university or college, possess a competitive GMAT score and at least a 3.2 GPA. Either a technically oriented undergraduate degree or at least two years networking experience is required. While there are no formal prerequisite courses to the program, a sound background in calculus and quantitative skills is beneficial.
