“Beta Alpha Psi is happy to co-host this event with the Financial Management Association because of the great opportunity it provides students,” said James Alvey, president of Beta Alpha Psi. “We gain insight into a pivotal industry on the national scene through this event.”
Firms speaking at the event were Samson, Halliburton and Chesapeake Energy. Students participated in a question and answer panel with ConocoPhillips, Koch Industries, Williams Companies, and Love’s Travel Stores and Country Stores.
The event was open to all business majors, with students from a variety of departments attending. In particular, members of the Freshman Business Student Leaders attended the event.
“It was extremely interesting to hear what these professionals had to say,” said Kyle Buthod, Spears School freshman and a member of the Freshmen Business Student Leaders. “The current economic conditions made the information much more relevant.”
Throughout the academic year, the Freshman Business Student Leaders will attend events or meetings sponsored by each Spears School organization to help the students get accommodated to the college and what different organizations have to offer. • Read more
