Spears School’s Center for Applied Economic Research under new leadership
STILLWATER, Okla. - The Spears School of Business Center for Applied Economic Research (CAER) has recently announced the new leadership team of economists Russell Evans and Kyle Dean.
Evans joined the CAER in May and replaced Mark Snead as CAER director. Evans is an OSU graduate and is returning to the Spears School after spending a year at the University of Tulsa. Having completed his graduate coursework in 2005, he and Dean formed a private economic consulting firm, Economic Impact Group, LLC, in Edmond, Okla., and they have continued working together ever since.

Spears School opens center for entrepreneur education

OKLAHOMA CITY - The new Riata Center for Entrepreneurship at Oklahoma State University is just weeks away from opening with several outreach programs, built in conjunction with the school's new department and curricula, center Director Nola Miyasaki said.
The university's thrust into entrepreneurship education is two-pronged: The Riata center will offer what Miyasaki described as experiential and outreach programs to fledgling entrepreneurs regardless of their previous formal education. And OSU has created a new academic department offering curricula for undergraduate- and graduate-level entrepreneurship studies. The complementary combination should allow OSU to reach deep into the business community, she said.
One of the first Riata center programs, for example, is a "boot camp" for entrepreneurs that provides a six-session, condensed exposure to the department's faculty and class modules on topics such as guerilla marketing, business models, economics and financing.
