OSU listed as one of the top 10 universities preparing cyber security professionals
Oklahoma State University recently was listed by The New New Internet as one of the top 10 universities preparing cyber security professionals.
OSU has a long history of active involvement in digital security and forensics, offering an undergraduate option and minor in Information Assurance, as well as a 15-credit hour graduate certificate in information assurance. The program draws on the expertise of faculty from the Spears School of Business, the computer science department of the College of Arts and Sciences and the electrical engineering department of the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology.

Condoleezza Rice to headline OSU’s Tulsa Business Forums speaker series
Former U.S. Secretary of State and national security advisor Condoleezza Rice is slated to headline the roster of exciting speakers for the 2009-2010 Tulsa Business Forums series. The Tulsa Business Forums feature international business and political leaders, authors and policymakers who bring critical and timely information to the Oklahoma business community. In addition to Rice, other speakers for the 2009-2010 series include William D. Cohan and J. Alexander M Douglas, Jr.
The Tulsa Business Forums are sponsored by the Spears School of Business and its corporate partners and coordinated by the Center for Executive and Professional Development at Oklahoma State University.

Spears School experts think recession may bottom out this year

The U.S. recession could bottom out this year, according to a midyear update report by Oklahoma State University economists Russell Evans and Kyle Dean.
“We foresee an end to the contraction and a return to modest economic growth in the latter half of 2009,” the leaders of the OSU Center for Applied Economic Research wrote in a commentary released Monday.
But that will probably come in the form of a modest, sustained recovery, they said, with the pace of hiring not picking up until the latter half of 2010.

Riata Center for Entrepreneurship will fuel students’ dreams

Those three words are the theme of the Riata Center for Entrepreneurship at Oklahoma State University, which was dedicated Friday morning at the Spears School of Business
The center was made possible by a $28.6 million donation from Amy and Malone Mitchell III last year. It will serve as a place to surround students in entrepreneurship and be an outreach for entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs.
