Credit-hour waivers are available to qualified
students depending on undergraduate background. Students admitted to the
Full-Time MBA are eligible for financial assistance in the form of scholarships
and assistantships. A maximum of 52 graduate credit hours are
required to complete the full-time program; the program contains 40 hours of
core courses and 12 hours of electives. A total of 48 graduate credit hours are
required to complete the part-time program. The part-time program shares 33
credit hours of the full-time program and requires 15 hours of electives.
Fulltime students generally complete the program in two years; parttime students
take an average of three to five years.
PART-TIME MBA:
The Part-Time MBA is a 48 credit-hour program
designed for individuals who wish to enroll on a part-time basis only. The
program is self-paced, allowing students to take a limited number of credit
hours each semester. Applicants must have earned a four-year undergraduate
degree or equivalent from an accredited university and have a competitive GMAT
and GPA.
PROFESSIONAL MBA:
The Professional MBA is a 36 credit-hour program
designed for students attending classes primarily at OSU-Tulsa or via Distance
Learning, but is also available at the OSU-Stillwater campus. Applicants must
have an undergraduate degree in business, engineering, or a related field from
an accredited university and a minimum of three years substantive work
experience; applicants with significant work experience beyond three years but
lacking a business-related undergraduate degree may be given consideration. A
Graduate Studies Committee will review applications prior to granting admission,
and the Committee works closely with students on their curriculum options during
matriculation. Applications must include three letters of recommendation,
including one from an immediate supervisor, and applicants must submit a written
statement of purpose that includes the reason they believe they are qualified
for this program.
DISTANCE LEARNING
MBA:
Distance Learning MBA is 48 to 36 credit-hour*
program that is an ideal educational format for motivated, full-time working
professionals who have travel obligations, face relocation, or otherwise don't
have time for a traditional classroom MBA. Classes are available on CD-Rom,
through video streaming on the Internet or by interactive television. The
program uses technology to ensure student interaction with faculty, classmates
and guest speakers. Applicants interested in Distance Learning should note that
degree specializations are not available through this format, and Distance
Learning is not a specialization.
THE ACCELERATED MBA-MSTM DUAL
MASTERS:
The Accelerated MBA-MSTM Dual
Masters is more than a technical MBA. This dual degrees allows full-time
students earn both the MBA and the Master of Science in Telecommunications
Management (MSTM) degrees in two and a half years. Students will fully complete
the core courses of both programs and share nine elective hours to meet the
degree requirements. Working together, the William S. Spears School of Business,
the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology, and the College of Arts
and Sciences have built one of the nation's most unique interdisciplinary
telecommunications management programs. MSTM graduates develop broad knowledge
in areas of business, technology and communications with options to specialize
in areas that best fit their career aspirations. You'll receive hands-on
experience in its state-of-the-industry telecommunications lab. For more
information about the MSTM Program visit the MSTM
website.
