As a fully admitted student in the MSTM program, you have a 32-33 credit hour
program ahead of you, and, for full-time students, the time will go much faster
than you anticipate. Full-time students can expect to complete the degree in
four semesters and move into the work-force, while part-time students will need
more time to complete the degree because of work and other obligations.
Focusing on your class work is important, but there additional areas
requiring you attention. The information below will assist you move through
areas of enrollment, plan of study, diploma application, and, for full-time
students in particular, the all important job search.
For enrollment, all first semester distance
learning and Stillwater campus students will work with Jay Boyington, MSTM

appointment, you should review the following:
The Plan of Study is required by the Graduate
College prior to your 17th hour of enrollment. The plan is a listing of the
courses that will comprise a graduate degree program. The initial Plan of Study
(POS) should be prepared before the end of your first semester after discussions
with the the Assistant Director, Ms. Cunha, or Professor Gray. You may also wish
to discuss your plans for electives with the faculty members in the department
of your specialization, or other MSTM faculty. more
The job search process is a critical yet often
overlooked aspect of your academic career. The Spears School of Business
employes a full-time career coordinator, Lori O'Malley, to assist you with your
resume, cover letter writing, and interviewing skills. Ms. O'Malley is available

you access the Career Services 7 of 10 system, which allows you to post your
resume, manage interview opportunities, and network with potential employers.
One of your highest priorities must be securing an internship after complete
18-20 hours of the program curriculum. Doing so allows you to meet the
requirement of TCOM 5163 Telecommunications
Practicum and possibly land a full-time position.
The diploma application must be filed with the
Office of the Registrar, Certifications, 322 Student Union, during the first two
weeks of the semester of graduation. Failure to submit a diploma application
will result in delay of graduation clearance, receipt of diploma, and
withholding of degree confirmation. more
