Checklist for steps in the Doctoral Program
Note: This schedule assumes a “normal” program of study assuming that a student registers 9 credit hours per semester for non-dissertation work. The total “normal” period of study in the program is four years.  The departmental time limit for completion of a PhD in Business Administration (MSIS option) shall not exceed seven years from the date of admission into the program

Defend Dissertation Proposal

Notify Doctoral Dissertation Committee Chairperson that you want to enter the job market 2.Prepare resume for AMCIS (August), INFORMS (November), DSI (November), ICIS (December) and provide them to the placement services at these conferences and to the to Dissertation Committee. 3. Arrange and attend interviews at these conferences ______

Prior to 6 weeks before last day of classes in term in which degree is to be conferred 1.Prepare final draft copy of dissertation ______
One week prior to final oral defense of dissertation Submit final draft copy (and abstract) to Graduate College, each committee member and the MSIS department office. ______
Prior to 4 weeks before last day of classes in term in which degree is to be conferred 1.Have the Doctoral Dissertation Committee ChairpersonGraduate Dean to administer Final Dissertation defense request permission form 2.Take Final Oral Exam ______
Prior to 2 weeks before last day of classes in term in which degree is to be conferred 1. Make required changes to dissertation 2. Have Doctoral Dissertation Committee members sign dissertation 3. Submit three (3) copies of dissertation and six (6) copies of abstract to Graduate College ______
