NASD
National Association of Securities Dealers is self-regulatory body of the securities dealers industry. The infamous series 7, 63 exams and many others, which every broker and investment manager must passed are offered by NASD.

AIMR
Association for Investment Management & Research is the force behind CFA exams.  CFA or "Chartered Financial Analyst" is a highly regarded certificate of proficiency which is widely held by professional financial managers and consultants.

MBA
Master of Business Administration, is degree that historically viewed as a value-adding certificate which helps lower level managers-employees, particularly those with no business training, to find better opportunities.
 

Masters in Finance
Most recently a number of top schools started to offer a variety of masters in finance: MS in Finance MS in Mathematical Finance, MS in Computational Finance.
