(STILLWATER, Okla.) - The Center for Applied Economic Research in the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University will release the 2010 Oklahoma Economic Outlook report November 17 at a conference from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Moore-Norman Career Tech South Penn Campus.
The Oklahoma Economic Outlook is an annual report compiled using the Oklahoma State Econometric Model to provide information on the probable performance of the Oklahoma economy in the upcoming year. The Model is in its thirtieth year of development and is the state’s only large-scale econometric forecasting model.

STILLWATER – William D. Cohan will be the opening speaker for the 2009-2010 Executive Management Briefings in Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
His presentation, “House of Cards: How and Why the Financial Market Melted Down,” is scheduled at noon Wednesday at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Center, 1700 NE 63rd St., Oklahoma City and at noon Thursday at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 100 E. Second St., Tulsa.
Cohan, a former Wall Street senior banker, is author of The Last Tycoons, winner of the 2007 Financial Times/Goldman Sachs Business Book of the Year Award, and House of Cards: A Tale of Hubris and Wretched Excess on Wall Street.

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State University recently was included in G.I. Jobs magazine’s list of “Military Friendly School” for 2010. The list honors the top 15 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools that are doing the most to embrace America's veterans as students. The list was compiled through exhaustive research starting last May during which G.I. Jobs polled more than 7,000 schools nationwide. Criteria for making the Military Friendly Schools list included efforts to recruit and retain military and veteran students, results in recruiting military and veteran students and academic accreditations. Schools on the Military Friendly Schools list also offer additional benefits to student veterans or active-duty military.

STILLWATER, Okla. – Former U.S. Secretary of State and national security advisor Condoleezza Rice is slated to headline the roster of exciting speakers for the 2009-2010 Executive Management Briefings series. The Executive Management Briefings feature international business and political leaders, authors and policymakers who bring critical and timely information to the Oklahoma City business community. In addition to Rice, other speakers for the 2009-2010 series include William D. Cohan and Jeff Taylor.
The Executive Management Briefings are sponsored by the Spears School of Business and its corporate partners and coordinated by the Center for Executive and Professional Development at Oklahoma State University.
The 2009-2010 series will debut Oct. 14, 2009, at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum with a luncheon and presentation from noon to 1:30 p.m. by William D. Cohan titled “House of Cards: How and Why the Financial Market Melted Down.”

(October 1, 2009 Stillwater, Okla.) – The School of Accounting in the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University will present the 5th annual Oil and Gas Accounting Conference on Nov. 12, 2009, from 1 to 5 p.m., and the 9th annual Accounting and Financial Reporting Conference on Nov. 13, 2009, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Both conferences will be held in Tulsa, Okla., at the Crowne Plaza Hotel and Conference Center.
Don Hansen, OSU School of Accounting department head and Kerr-McGee Chair, noted more than 450 people are expected to attend the conferences.
“We appreciate the support of our OSU accounting alumni as well as others in the accounting, finance and tax areas who attend and benefit from hearing these national and regional prominent accounting experts,” Hansen said.
