Dan Eshleman
The School of Accounting in Oklahoma State University’s Spears School of Business
welcomes two new professors for the 2014-15 school year. Joining the Spears School
faculty are Dan Eshleman and Scott White.
“The School of Accounting is very excited to be able to recruit such high quality
professors to the faculty,” said Robert Cornell, head of the School of Accounting.
“Both Dan and Scott have earned doctoral degrees in accounting from prestigious institutions
and have a wealth of wide-ranging teaching and professional experience.
“The School of Accounting continues its commitment to assuring that all of our students
receive a world-class education. Both of these professors will make immediate contributions
in the classroom and will help in maintaining our reputation for high-quality scholarship.”
Eshleman comes to Oklahoma State after earning his doctoral degree in accounting from
Louisiana State University in 2013. His research interests include audit quality,
audit fees, and behavioral science.
Scott White
He grew up in Kernersville, N.C. Eshleman earned his bachelor’s in accounting from
North Carolina State University. Upon graduation he worked as a tax preparer before
pursuing his doctorate at LSU.
Eshleman enjoys reading, playing board games, cooking (especially pizza), conducting
accounting research, playing basketball, and spending time with his wife, Peng, and
son, Michael.
White will join the OSU faculty after receiving his doctoral degree in accounting
from the University of Tennessee. His academic interests include taxation and financial
reporting.
He earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from the University
of Missouri-Columbia. Prior to pursuing his doctoral degree, White served on the faculty
of Lindenwood University as an assistant professor. He also has professional experience
as an associate in the tax practice of Arthur Andersen
White has been a Certified Public Accountant since 2002.
