Darlene Croci and Jennifer Craig of the Spears School of Business were recently recognized at the June meeting of the Staff Advisory Council (SAC). Croci, who served on the Council for five years, received a Certificate of Appreciation for the completion of her term with SAC and Craig received a Certificate of Appreciation for serving as the Awards and Recognition Committee Chair this past year.

The Staff Advisory Council’s mission is “to represent the interests of staff in the development and implementation of policies and procedures that directly affect their morale, well-being, working conditions, and professional welfare,” according to its webpage.

Croci has held numerous leadership positions with SAC which include being the Policies, Benefits, & Budgets Committee Chair (2011-2012), Vice Chair (2012-2013), and Chair of the Council (2013-2014). Craig is completing her first year of a three-year term.

“Serving on the OSU Staff Advisory Council gave me an opportunity to serve on various OSU administration position selection committees and Excellence Award selection committees,” Croci said. “I was able to be involved in staff concerns and keep better informed of happenings on campus.”

SAC provides many events and recognitions for staff including Staff Development Day, scholarships, distinguished service awards and a staff appreciation luncheon at Boone Pickens Stadium. In addition, a catalog award system was created that allows employees to select a unique gift in recognition of their commitment to service at OSU where previously they were given a lapel pin.

“While serving as chair of the Policies, Benefits and Budget Committee, I was able to make recommendations to President [Burns] Hargis regarding changes to OSU policies or other benefits,” Croci said. “Most recently, this was a recommendation to provide AED’s on campus. I have been told that the OSU police vehicles are now equipped with AED’s.”

Croci is currently a senior financial assistant for the Research and Financial Services Department in the Spears School. Craig is an administrative support specialist II for the School of Entrepreneurship.
