The Spears School of Business Marketing and Communications department at Oklahoma State University recently received recognition during the 2015 Oklahoma College Public Relations Association (OCPRA) Annual Conference and Awards Competition in Sulphur, Okla.

The Spears School Marketing and Communications group was presented with the Grand Award, the highest honor, for a marketing/advertising campaign for its work on the Spears School’s 100th Anniversary in 2014. The Campaign category recognized campaigns for admissions, fundraising or other marketing objectives, and must have demonstrated connectivity between elements/materials and results of the campaign.

“We are very proud of our Marketing and Communications group as they do a tremendous job for us,” said Ken Eastman, dean of the Spears School of Business. “Under the leadership of Terry Tush, this unit has greatly improved our messaging to our various constituents and this award reflects the excellence of their work. We had a very successful centennial year and we owe a lot of that success to the efforts of our Marketing and Communications staff, so this award is a fitting recognition of their work on this project.”

The unit was also honored with the Achievement Award in the Bright Idea category, recognizing special event material or a promotional idea that was extraordinary or highly successful. The Spears School’s was recognized for its Leave Your Mark mural painting, when faculty, staff and students participated in painting a mural of the future Business Building last spring.

The annual OCPRA competition featured entries from public and private higher education institutions across Oklahoma.
