STILLWATER, Okla. - The Oklahoma State University Department of Management will host a public talk by organizational theory scholar Andy Van de Ven on Friday, October 23 at 10 a.m. in room 413 in the OSU Student Union. Van de Ven is the author of Engaged Scholarship, which addresses ways to bridge the gap between academic research and managerial practice. Van de Ven envisions a co-production of knowledge where academics, business practitioners and other stakeholders combine their seemingly disparate skill sets to discover solutions for some of business’ biggest problems. "Andy had a tremendous impact on me when I was a PhD student. I am excited that PhD students at OSU will have an opportunity to hear his perspective on scholarship,” said Scott Johnson, OSU assistant professor of management. Van de Ven currently serves as the Vernon H. Heath Chair of Organizational Innovation and Change in the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. In addition, he is past president of the Academy of Management. |
