Mission

To promote the development of the sport industry in Oklahoma, the region, and nationally, and enhance the career opportunities of our students.

Initiatives

The SMI will strive to reach its objectives through four primary areas: research, conferences and symposiums, education, and visibility initiatives.

Research

Support research projects and reports in sports management, including student and faculty participation, publication, and presentation of projects at regional and national sports and business conferences.

Conferences and symposiums

Host visiting scholars and professionals in the sports business industry on various panels and presentations, providing students with valuable networking opportunities.

Education

Supporting sport management program and course development, academic travel and other unique educational opportunities

Visibility

Develop public relations and media coverage in order to promote the sport management program locally, regionally, and nationally
