STILLWATER,
Okla. (May 29, 2007) — Business and government executives will get a
chance to improve strategic decision-making, enhance their leadership
effectiveness and learn to build successful teams at the 13th annual
Executive Education Partnership Program July 22-26 on the Oklahoma State
University campus in Stillwater. The registration
deadline for the program is June 15.
“This program is an
outstanding opportunity for executives to immerse themselves in learning and
practicing concepts that are essential in their managerial roles,” said Lee
Manzer, marketing professor and OSU’s coordinator for the program. “The hands-on
involvement and guidance from faculty gives participants a real heightened sense
of their executive responsibilities.”
Especially
recommended for executives and upper-level managers, the program features senior
faculty members from OSU’s Spears School of Business and the University of
Oklahoma Price College of Business. They offer participants the latest
state-of-the-industry insights to make their organizations more competitive,
while helping the leaders themselves confront resource and project
implementation challenges and actively engage in self-development. The faculty
also provides ample opportunities for one-on-one consultation.
Program topics
include power and influence, emotional intelligence, legal and ethical issues
application, building a coaching culture and leading organizational
change.
The program uses
simulations and peer feedback to link sessions with strategy planning and
execution.
“The Executive
Education Partnership Program has been the most rewarding and enriching
management program I have attended,” said past program participant Kim Fisher,
applications area manager and vice president, American Fidelity Assurance Co.
“The quality and caliber of the professors and presenters have been
extraordinary.”
Participating
faculty members collaborate with 12 state corporations and organizations to
develop the curriculum for the program. A representative from each partner
organization is on the program’s advisory board.
Some of the partner
organizations are Anadarko Petroleum, CITGO Petroleum, Bank of America,
BlueCross BlueShield of Oklahoma, ConocoPhillips, OGE Energy, Williams, American
Fidelity Group, Tinker Air Force Base and The Charles Machine Works. Other firms
participating in the 2006 program included Avaya, the Federal Aviation
Administration, Halliburton and Western Farmers Electric Cooperative.
“Over half of the
available registrations have already been filled for this year’s program in
July,” said Vickie Karns, program manager for the OSU Center for Executive and
Professional Development. “These people include vice presidents, directors, CIOs
and managers.”
The $3,850
registration fee includes tuition, accommodations, meals and all program
materials. Registration deadline is June 15. Space is limited. For more
