August 17, 2007—Dr. Gerald Lage, the faculty athletic representative at Oklahoma State for more than two decades, passed away Wednesday afternoon at his home in Stillwater. He was 66. Lage had been a member of the Oklahoma State University family since 1966, when he joined the College of Business Administration as an assistant professor. Lage served the college (now Spears School of Business) in several capacities, including director of graduate studies and head of the economic and finance department as well as the director for the Center for International Trade and Development, and associate dean for research and graduate programs. Lage served as the OSU faculty athletic representative with the NCAA and the Big Eight/Big 12 Conference from 1983-2007. He was the chairman on three occasions, in 1985-86, 1993-94 and most recently in 2003-04.
