The Department of Homeland Security and the National Security Agency have designated Oklahoma State University a National Center for Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Research.

Oklahoma State University’s Spears School of Business is bringing together some of the nation’s leading experts for its second annual energy conference --  “A Bright Future for Oklahoma”  -- at the Cox Business Services Convention Center on Wednesday, April 23, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.  
 
OSU Spears School honors 2007-2008 Outstanding Seniors

STILLWATER, Okla.—Ten Oklahoma State University Spears School seniors recently were honored as a Spears School 2007-2008 Outstanding Senior.

The award recognizes seniors who have demonstrated a strong academic record, leadership, and campus and community involvement.

Extreme entrepreneurs to visit OSU April 2

Many of America’s top young entrepreneurs are coming to OSU-Stillwater to share insights from their success Wednesday, April 2, from 3-7 p.m. in Click Hall as part of The Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour.The first-of-its-kind tour will feature entrepreneurs who’ve made, earned or sold a company for millions and/or made an impact before the age of 30.

Don’t believe everything you see or hear on the news. Despite reports about information technology jobs going overseas, the U.S. Department of Labor reports that five of the top 30 fastest growing occupations in the country are in I.T.

OSU Invites High School Students to Come to the US for an Undergraduate Degree in MIS

Professors from Oklahoma State University’s Spears School of Business are visiting India during the week of January 22-26 to encourage high school students to get their undergraduate education at OSU, a top-ranked American comprehensive university. OSU is already the choice of thousands of postgraduate students from India. This initiative is to extend the same welcome to students preparing for their undergraduate admission.

Greer Retires from OSU Spears School of Business

rudy_greer.jpgWhen Rudy Greer, director for planning and operations, retires from the OSU Spears School of Business this month, he'll be leaving a business school that he has personally nurtured and watched grow for more than 30 years.

During his tenure, which has included working for seven deans and interim deans, Greer has seen many changes. When he started in 1975 as an administrative assistant, the school had about half the number of students and faculty that it does now. In fact, everyone-staff, faculty, and students-were housed in just one facility.  Now the school occupies four more buildings in addition to the Business Building-Thatcher, Hanner, Classroom Building and Gundersen.

Thirteen OSU graduate (11 MS in MIS and 2 MS in Engineering) students received SAS/OSU Data Mining certificate Award on Nov. 8, 2007.
