OSU and CREC to launch LeadershipSource Series |
Summer 2007—Community and business leaders in towns across Oklahoma are about to get a unique opportunity to receive practical business training via video conferencing. The Center for Executive and Professional Development in the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University has partnered with Central Rural Electric Cooperative to present the LeadershipSource Professional Development Program to address today’s rapidly changing business environment.
The training involves six sessions targeted for community/business leaders, but registration is open to the public. The series will start Thursday, May 31, from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. with the topic, “Building Customer Relationships,” and will continue through March of 2008. Where video conferencing is not available, participants can attend the actual sessions, which will be held at the CREC Training Center in Stillwater.
“We are very excited about this leadership series and the opportunity to partner with OSU, which is a leader in this type of instruction. We are committed to developing our own employees and glad to offer others this opportunity to do the same at convenient locations,” said David Swank, CEO of CREC in Stillwater.
Dynamic and experienced faculty from the Spears School of Business such as Drs. Raj Basu, Matthew Bowler, Robert Dooley; Ken Eastman, and Lee Manzer will lead each session. They’ll share practical insights to enhance your business performance, organizational effectiveness and ability to gain employees’ confidence.
Topics will include: “Building Customer Relationships,” on May 31; “Managing to Lead Organizations,” on August 30; “Developing Your Professional Network,” on October 11; “Team Building,” on November 8; “Decision Making and Critical Thinking,” on February 28, 2008; and “Managing in a Competitive Environment,” on March 27, 2008.
The registration fee for each session is $85 or a discounted rate of $450 for all 6 sessions. The fee includes instruction and materials.
