Scholarship Opportunities |
Scholarship opportunity for domestic undergraduate and graduate students working for the information assurance major or minor.
The Department of Defense has created scholarship opportunities for non-military personnel to encourage current students to enter the field of information assurance. This program, available through the Spears School of Business at OSU, provides for the full cost of tuition, books, fees, and lab expenses, plus a $12,000 stipend for undergraduates and $17,000 for graduate students. A (paid) summer internship is required, as is one year of civilian Department of Defense employment after graduation for each scholarship year.
“We really want to see people get these scholarships,” says Mark Weiser, associate dean. “They’re entirely funded by the government and represent a win-win situation for both the students and the government agencies who will receive the benefit of future employees trained in Information Assurance.”
The application process starts in February and requires a personal statement, a multi-page form, three letters of recommendation, and a background check. For more information, go to the website CTANS.okstate.edu or e-mail Mark Weiser at CTANS@okstate.edu .
