  • SCHOLARSHIP due dates are coming up fast.  February 8th is the deadline for most business scholarships. 

  • Manzer recognized
    OSU Professor Lee Manzer will be honored Friday night in Austin as a winner of the Acton Foundation’s award for Excellence in Entrepreneurship Education. Manzer, professor of marketing in the Spears School of Business, was nominated by one of his students for the award. Each winner is invited to attend a two-day seminar in Austin on entrepreneurship teaching with one of their top students. Corey Else of Tulsa, a senior majoring in management and entrepreneurship with a minor in finance and leadership, will join Manzer. They will participate in case discussions that put them in the shoes of a real entrepreneur who helps them make the tough calls required for success. 

  • S.E.E.D Student Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development - The SSB is supporting entrepreneurship across campus.  The SSB Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization and the OSU Center for Innovation and Economic Development are working together to help promote entrepreneurship – with an emphasis on student entrepreneurship - and enterprise development.  They will assist businesses in developing a business plan and/or give advice on various areas of the business.  For more information:

  • Teaching Excellence Nomination Forms are available now.

    If there is a faculty member you think deserves to be recognized for their excellence in teaching, please fill out this nomination form and turn it in to the Deans' office (201 Business Building).

    To be eligible for consideration for a SSB Teaching award, a nominee must:
    1. be nominated by a student as well as a faculty member or
      departmenthead;
    2. be a regular, FULL-TIME TENURED OR TENURE TRACK FACULTY member;
    3. have been a full-time faculty member in the OSU Spears School of Business
      for AT LEAST THREE YEARS.
  • You may nominate more than one instructor for this award. Recipients will be announced at the Spears School of Business Honors and Awards Banquet.

    Please return this form by 5:00PM, Friday, February 8, 2008.

  • The Business Scholarship application is available now in the Dean’s office (201 Business Bldg.) and online. You cannot submit the application online, so once you have filled it out, turn it in to the Dean’s office. The Deadline for submitting the applications is February 8, 2008.

  • Scholarship opportunity for all majors
    Applications are available now for the Information Assurance Scholarship Programs. Click here to fill out the application online. You cannot submit it online, so once you have filled it out, turn it in to the Dean’s office (201 Business Bldg.). Be sure to read the instruction packet by clicking here to make sure you meet all the eligibility requirements.     Deadline to turn in the scholarship is February 8, 2008. Turn it in to the Dean's office (201 Business Building).

    The scholarship includes the following:
    • $12,000 stipend (undergraduate students)
    • $17,000 stipend (graduate students)
    • Full cost of tuition, books, fees, lab expenses, computer and more
    • Paid Internship
    • Guaranteed job after graduation. (one year civilian DoD employment for each scholarship year)
  • The Koch Industries, Inc. Scholarship will be awarded to William S. Spears School of Business undergraduate or graduate students. This scholarship recognizes students who have exhibited outstanding academic achievement and leadership and who demonstrate the ability to successfully contribute to their chosen field. Koch will award up to $10,000 in academic scholarships to Oklahoma State University with a minimum of one $3,000 scholarship designated to a William S. Spears School of Business undergraduate or graduate student for the 2008-2009 academic year.

    ELIGIBILITY
    Recipient must be enrolled as a full-time student at the Oklahoma State University-Stillwater campus pursuing a business related undergraduate or graduate degree in the William S. Spears School of Business. GPA: Minimum 3.0/4.0 (un-weighted) Graduation Date: Between Fall 2008 and Spring 2010 United States citizen

    : For full consideration, applications must be postmarked no later than Friday, February 8, 2008. Applications received after this deadline will be considered on a space available basis. o Application materials must be complete at the time of submission. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

    • Friday, April 4: Last day to drop a course with a grade of “W” (must drop by petition after this date)
    • Friday, April 18: Last day to Withdraw from ALL courses with assigned grade of “W” or “F”
