Spears School of Business (General) Scholarships

  • The Dean’s Office (201 Spears School of Business ) begins accepting applications for the annual scholarship program for continuing students at the end of the fall semester. Unless otherwise announced, the deadline for turning in completed applications is 5 p.m. on the last Friday of January. You can also obtain a hard copy of the application in 201 Spears School of Business beginning in early December.
  • The application at the link is a draft, and the final version will be available the end of November.

Majors in the Spears School of Business have the opportunity to apply for a number of different scholarships. Several of these scholarships have a perpetual existence because they are endowed. The others are made possible because of yearly donations from the donors and may not always be available. The amounts and number of scholarships awarded each year are determined by earnings and donations.

Most scholarship recipients are selected by a scholarship committee within the Spears School of Business. The same application is used to apply for most of these endowed or “yearly” scholarships – you can either obtain it in 201 Business Building the beginning of December or you can download the Business Scholarship Application from this website. You will be provided with a link in the scholarship information below for any scholarship requiring an additional or alternate application.

The Spears School of Business Scholarship application must be accompanied by your Student Aid Report (SAR). You can get a copy of your SAR by going to www.fafsa.gov. If you are unable to obtain your SAR, you can go to the Scholarships and Financial Aid office (119 Student Union) for help.

Most scholarships are awarded for the fall and spring semesters of the following school year. One half of the scholarship is disbursed into the students’ bursar accounts the beginning of each semester after the drop/add period ends. A student’s failure to maintain scholarship criteria results in the loss of the scholarship(s), and re-application for the following year is required for future scholarship awards. Study abroad scholarships are one time payments and are disbursed into students’ bursar accounts approximately a week before their trips.
