Spears School contingent the largest from any U.S. school to attend China conference
Oklahoma State University Regents Professor of Economics Dan Rickman was one of the organizers of the fourth International Workshop on Regional, Urban, and Spatial Economics in China over the summer.
Rickman, an economist in the OSU Spears School of Business, was joined by two students in the economics doctoral program and three graduates of the Ph.D. program in attending the workshop at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China in June. It was the largest contingent of representatives from any school in the United States.
“The number of former and current OSU students at the conference reflects the department’s emphasis in the field of regional and urban economics and increased interest in China with its rapid pace of urbanization,” said Rickman.
The conference included attendees from Asia, Australia, Europe and North America. The objective of the workshop was to increase the visibility of regional, urban, spatial and housing economics in China, and to develop a stronger research network for top-level international and Chinese scholars.
