TOP-15-ONLINE-MBA-PROGRAMS-IN-ENVIRONMENTAL-SUSTAINABILITY-2017Oklahoma State University’s Spears School of Business was recently named the second best Online MBA Program in Environmental Sustainability in the nation by OnlineMBAToday.com.

The Environmental Sustainability program in the management department is focused on the concept of a triple bottom line, which incorporates three dimensions of performance: social, environmental and financial, or sometimes referred to as people, planet and profits.

“The OSU Distance MBA program has a long history of serving students in Oklahoma as well as a large population of students all over the world,” said Scott Johnson, associate professor of the Spears School. “We are very excited about the expanded list of elective courses that we will be able to offer because of our new partnership with the Oklahoma State Environmental Science Graduate Program. We are excited and honored to receive this award and will continue to look for ways to grow this program.”

OnlineMBAToday’s review of the OSU program reads as follows:

Oklahoma State University has an AACSB-International accredited, online MBA with a concentration in Business Sustainability. This accreditation gives evidence to the high standards that are kept in this online program. The university has a graduation rate just above the average from the schools in this ranking, showing a solid satisfaction rate among its student body. The program also shows a level of prestige outside its community with its inclusion in the online MBA ranking from US News & World Report. But even with these accolades, one of the biggest advantages to this program is the very low resident tuition cost. This low monetary investment, coupled with its high average alumni early career salary, gives students a very high return on their investment in this program.

OnlineMBAToday ranked 350 universities’ Environmental Sustainability programs by a five-factor methodology: estimated tuition cost, accreditation, pay scale early career salary, prestige and overall graduation rates. OSU’s program has the lowest resident tuition on the rankings and boasts a high average alumni early career salary.

“According to recent statistics from US News and World Report, environmental-related jobs are expected to grow at more than four times the rate of other occupations,” said Jim Pappas, department head of management for the Spears School. “Our options in Business Sustainability are expected to grow significantly in the next few years and we expect to offer unique types of experiences to meet the needs of the market."
